I began the reassembly process. There isn't much i can do until I get the second batch of powdercoat back because it includes the frame. So I started with the headlight and I'm very happy with the result. The headlight bucket and inner and outer bezel are all powdercoated in the satin black. I glad I took the time to do all three pieces.
Once I finished the above, I moved on to wrapping up the stainless engine bolts. Previously, i only did one side before I ran out of time. During the course of this, a very important determination was made: Of everything natural and unnatural on this earth, there is absolutely nothing I hate more than Japanese fasteners. Nope, not racism; not high fructose corn syrup; nothing. I would have thought that the Japanese industry would have figured out fastener metallurgy, but no; even my modern CBR900RR engine I used in my se7en had the same issue.
Anyway, I promptly stripped all the bolts off the side covers. Even the impact gun would not pull them. So I'm in the process of drilling them out.
And finally, I began painting my hand controls. I pulled off the shite-looking old decals and ordered a set from HVC Cycle (cool guys; do business with them).
