The wheels that came with the bike were, as expected for sitting outside for 10 years, shitty. I took EZ-off oven cleaner to the wheels to remove the anodizing, proper fecking them in the process. I ended up matting them out with 1200 grit and WD-40. I also replaced the bearings in the process. These really should have been powdercoated black.
